Lake District Walking with Wainwright
The status of Alfred Wainwright is chiefly derived from his guides to walks in the Lake District, despite the fact that he wrote a lot on walking in other parts of the country too. His Pictorial Guides to walking over the Lakeland hills have been especially popular for half a century. In the past few years updated versions have been published to allow for landscape changes. These 2nd editions, and also many other Wainwright books are listed on this website.
